About the Straight Gin leaderboard

This board ranks the fastest completed hands of Straight Gin by finish time. Straight Gin strips Gin Rummy back to its purest, most demanding form by removing the safety valve of knocking altogether - a game rated Pure skill and played by 2 players.

How ranking works

  • Only completed (won) hands count, and every result is checked for a plausible time and turn count before it's listed.
  • Ties break toward fewer turns, rewarding efficient melding as well as speed.
  • Signed-in players keep a permanent name on the board and sync records across devices; guests can still post a display name.
  • Switch between Today, This Week, This Month and All Time above to see recent form or lifetime bests.

What counts as a good Straight Gin time?

Times vary a lot by player and by deal, but here's a rough guide to aim for:

Just learningGoing out at all is the win - don't watch the clock yet.
Casual playerA comfortable, unhurried hand, usually a few minutes.
Getting goodUnder ~3 minutes with few wasted turns.
Speed runnerWell under a minute on a friendly deal - clean, decisive melding.

The fastest way to climb this board isn't frantic clicking - it's making fewer, smarter turns so the clock barely moves while you plan.
